Welcome to the APF housing resource page!  Below you will find a list of incentives and housing resources available to Atlanta police officers interested in moving to the city.  

Please check back frequently for new programs, incentives and other resources!

Relocation Bonus Incentive

The relocation bonus incentive is a cash bonus available to Atlanta police officers who relocate to the city on or after November 1, 2010. 

The bonus ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on location, and is applicable to rentals, courtesy officer units and purchases within the city limits.

To apply download the Relocation Bonus Incentive Application and W-9 form here and return with the following documents:

1.  Completed application signed by officer, supervisor and a unit or zone commander (Lieutenant, Captain or Major)

2.  Completed W-9 form

3.  Copy of new lease

4.  Evidence of former address

5.  Copy of APD ID

The documents can be returned via fax, email, regular mail, or delivered in person to APF.  The housing fax number is (404) 220-7581.

Relocation Bonus 2nd Installment

FOR RENTERS ONLY:  The eligibility date for the 2nd installment of the relocation bonus incentive is six months following the application date of the 1st installment.

To apply, download the 2nd Installment Application here and return with the following documents:

1.  Completed 2nd installment application

2.  Copy of a current utility bill

Retention Bonus Incentive

FOR OFFICERS LIVING DOWNTOWN ONLY:  Officers who currently live Downtown and intend to stay at least one year may be eligible for the Downtown Retention Incentive. 

The Downtown boundaries include purchases, rentals, or courtesy officer units within the boundaries of North Avenue, Boulevard, I-20, and Northside Drive. 

To determine if your property is within the Downtown boundaries, find your location on the APD Zone Map, OR view the List of Eligibile Downtown Properties

Down Payment Assistance Programs

Home Atlanta 4.0 - The newest mortgage option provided by Invest Atlanta.  Home Atlanta 4.0 provides:

  • An attractive 30-yr fixed interest rate mortgage with a forgiveable grant up to 3%.
  • Higher income and purchase price limits for eligible homebuyers
  • Refinances with a forgiveable grant up to 3% are allowed
  • No first-time homebuyer requirement

Neighborhood Lift Program - The Neighborhood Lift Program provides up to $15,000 in funding to eligible homebuyers for the purchase of a new or existing home. It is the only program offered by Invest Atlanta that can be used with a rehabilitation loan (203K).  Funding will be used to pay all or a portion of the closing costs, and/or the down payment associated with purchasing a home.  It is fully forgivable after you live in the home for five years.

1.  Attend an 8-hour participating homebuyer seminar.  Click the link for a schedule of homebuyer education workshops offered by Resources for Residents and Communities.

2.  Contact one of Invest Atlanta's participating lenders to get pre-qualified.

3.  Start your search for a home in the City of Atlanta.
