Thirty-one criminals are not celebrating the fact that Crime Stoppers Atlanta marks its first anniversary today. That’s the number of arrests made during the organization’s first year of operation.  The Atlanta Police Foundation, Atlanta Police Chief Richard J. Pennington, Clayton County Police and others were on hand to celebrate the event today.

“A Night with the Blues”, the second annual Policeman’s Ball, held on May 12 at the Georgia Aquarium, was a huge success, netting nearly $290,000 to support the programs and initiatives of the Atlanta Police Foundation. Guests were tempted with more than 100 silent auction items, as well as fabulous live auction offerings, including the adoption of a horse for the APD’s Mounted Patrol unit!

  
The Atlanta Police Department in partnership with the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District will announce the launch of a new four pronged security communications system for the City of Atlanta. 

Peter Faatz, father of fallen Officer Peter William Faatz of the Atlanta Police Department expressed his gratitude to the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Atlanta Police Department, citizens and friends for their generous support during his family’s time of bereavement. 

The 2nd Annual Link Up Against Crime Celebrity Golf Tournament succeeded in providing scholarships to three children of fallen police officers, as well as an opportunity for community and APD leaders to enjoy a day of golf on one of the top-rated courses in Atlanta.
