| Atlanta, GA -- 8/23/2006 Peter Faatz, father of fallen Officer Peter William Faatz of the Atlanta Police Department expressed his gratitude to the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Atlanta Police Department, citizens and friends for their generous support during his family’s time of bereavement.
The family felt comforted not just by the hotel accommodations provided by the Atlanta Police Foundation, but by the many kind expressions, condolences, and awe-inspiring participation in the dignified home going celebration for their son held at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Tuesday, August 8th.
Mr. Faatz cherished his son and was grateful to learn of the $100,000 Chubb Life benefit provided by the Peachtree Presbyterian Church and the Atlanta Police Foundation. In honor of his son’s memory, Mr. Faatz wishes donations remembering his son be sent to the Atlanta Police Foundation in support of Chief Pennington and the fine men and women of the Atlanta Police Department.
On July 21, 2006 Officer Peter William Faatz was critically injured when his patrol car collided with an ambulance at the corner of Milton Avenue and Hank Aaron Drive near Turner Field that was also in route to the scene of a fatal shooting in southwest Atlanta. Officer Faatz succumbed to his injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital on August 3, 2006 ending his watch at approximately 6:30 p.m. |
