Congratulations on answering the call and joining the Atlanta Police Department!

As you prepare for your transition, now is a great time to learn more about the APF Housing Incentive Program!

What is the housing program?

The APF Housing Incentive Program is a strategic public safety initiative to increase police presence in Atlanta neighborhoods. 

We achieve this objective by working closely with housing providers throughout the city to create and deliver housing discounts and other incentives to encourage more Atlanta police officers to live within city limits.

What are the incentives?

Through the support of our donors, partners and other housing stakeholders, we've created a comprehensive selection of resources including:

Relocation Bonus Incentive

The relocation bonus incentive is a cash bonus available to Atlanta police officers who relocate to the city on or after November 1, 2010. 

The bonus ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on location, and is applicable to rentals, courtesy officer units and purchases within the city limits.  

New recruits who move to the city before, during, OR after the academy are eligible for the bonus.  However, the bonus is payable AFTER becoming a sworn officer of the Atlanta Police Department.

Discounted Apartments

The APF Housing Incentive Program is continuously working with property managers and leasing agents throughout the city to create discounts for Atlanta police officers and new recruits as an incentive for living in the community.

To the right of the page is a list of apartments by police zone.  Apartments that offer discounts through the APF Housing Program are noted throughout each list.  Most of the discounts listed are available to both sworn officers AND new recruits.

Please note, some apartments may offer discounts in addition to those shown on the list.  When contacting a property of interest, please inquire about available discounts, specials and other current promotions.

Down Payment Assistance Programs

The APF Housing Incentive Program works closely with the City of Atlanta and Invest Atlanta - Atlanta's development authority - to identify down payment assistance programs available to homebuyers interested in purchasing a home within the city.

Downpayment programs are available to eligible sworn officers AND new recruits.

You can determine the location of properties of interest, along with the proximity to the police academy, APD headquarters, and other Atlanta landmarks.

The map also provides specific information on each zone, including the zone commander, precinct address, and crime statistics for the area.  Click the zone number on the map for more information.
