The Atlanta Police Foundation has dedicated staff resources to assisting officers who want to find affordable housing within the city limits.  One of the benefits of having more officers live within the city is to increase the visibility of officers within neighborhoods.  The Atlanta Police Foundation believes that having more officers who reside in the city will also provide an additional benefit in terms of retention, as it reduces commute times and reduces the possibility of officers being attracted to suburban police departments. 

In addition to serving as an information and referral source, the Foundation is reaching out to a number of developers who are interested in providing housing opportunities for police officers.
