The Child Care Support Program (CHIP) helps Atlanta Police Department officers manage the cost of childcare.
CHIP provides $400 per month in childcare assistance for one child under age five per household. This support helps officers balance demanding work schedules with family responsibilities.
Child care can be a major challenge for officers, especially in a profession with long hours, shift work, and unpredictable schedules. By helping reduce that burden, CHIP supports officer wellness, improves morale, and helps APD retain the people it needs.
When officers have stronger support at home, they are better positioned to stay focused, stay on the job, and continue building long-term careers with APD.
By supporting officers with child care assistance, CHIP helps strengthen:
- Officer wellness
- Officer morale
- Recruitment and retention
- Family stability
- Workforce readiness
- A stronger APD workforce
CHIP reflects APF’s commitment to supporting officers in practical ways that help them stay focused, supported, and committed to serving Atlanta.
Your support helps APF invest in programs that strengthen APD and help make Atlanta safer.
