Most officers remain in their homes beyond the five-year commitment period.
Connect Atlanta is a voluntary camera registration program that helps Atlanta Police Department know where privately owned security cameras may be available when a crime happens nearby.
Residents and business owners can choose to register their cameras with APD. Registering a camera does not give law enforcement live access or automatic access to video footage.
If an incident happens near a registered camera, APD may contact the owner and request footage that could help with the investigation. The camera owner decides whether to share it.
Connect Atlanta helps law enforcement identify available video evidence more quickly, which can support investigations, improve case resolution, and reduce delays when time matters most.
By strengthening access to voluntarily shared video evidence, Connect Atlanta helps support:
  • Faster investigations
  • Better case resolution
  • Lower crime
  • More efficient use of existing technology
  • Greater awareness of available camera coverage
  • Safer neighborhoods and business districts
Connect Atlanta reflects APF’s commitment to practical, community-supported tools that help improve public safety while respecting the rights of residents and business owners.
Your support helps APF invest in solutions that strengthen investigations, improve public safety outcomes, and support safer communities across Atlanta.
