Technology assists in identifying stolen vehicles and suspect movements.

License Plate Reader (LPR) technology helps law enforcement identify vehicles connected to crimes, locate stolen cars, and support faster investigations.
LPR cameras capture license plate information from vehicles traveling through public roadways. That information can help law enforcement identify vehicles linked to crimes, locate wanted vehicles, and improve response during time-sensitive investigations.
LPR technology is focused on vehicle identification, not people. It is used to help law enforcement solve crimes more efficiently and support public safety in places where vehicle-related crime, repeat offending, and rapid movement across the city can make investigations more difficult.
By improving vehicle identification and investigative speed, LPR technology helps support:
- Faster investigations
- Recovery of stolen vehicles
- Better case resolution
- Stronger situational awareness
- More efficient use of police resources
- Safer business districts and neighborhoods
LPR technology reflects APF’s commitment to practical, targeted tools that help law enforcement respond more effectively and improve public safety across Atlanta.

LPR
License plate readers (LPRs) are cameras that capture and read license plates. They are very effective at locating wanted subjects and stolen vehicles and are great investigatory aids.

PTZ
Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) cameras are capable of 'seeing' at a wide array of angles. Their singular lens can be rotated in most directions to accommodate common security needs.

QUAD
Quad cameras contain five camera lenses. Each device has four single-direction lenses that are housed within the device's central band. The lower portion of the device contains a fifth PTZ lens.
