Atlanta, GA (Aug. 7th, 2025) — On August 5th, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) joined law enforcement agencies across the country in celebrating National Night Out, a nation-wide event that strengthens the bond between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve.
This year, APD is proud to host 32 National Night Out events throughout the city, including a celebration at @Promise West a youth and community development center located in the heart of the English Avenue neighborhood.
The @Promise Center is more than just a building—it represents APD’s ongoing investment in preventive, community-based solutions that uplift and empower Atlanta’s most underserved neighborhoods. Since opening its doors, the @Promise Center has provided critical services such as mentoring, workforce development, academic support, and mental health counseling to local youth. Hosting National Night Out at this location is a powerful symbol of APD’s commitment to holistic public safety, community trust, and proactive engagement.

From block parties to meet-and-greets with officers, each National Night Out event across the city created opportunities for residents to connect with their local precincts in informal, welcoming spaces. Held annually on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out also serves to remind communities of the collaborative role they play in public safety—positioning officers not just as enforcers, but as mentors, protectors, and partners in community well-being.
Thanks to the support of engaged citizens and community organizations, APD continues to participate in meaningful events like National Night Out that strength bonds, break down barriers, and foster a safer, more unified Atlanta.
